Job Description

As a Senior Product Manager at Gateless, you will be responsible for writing requirements for our business rules that power our automation across both existing credit, income, and asset capabilities as well as new features and functionality. You will ensure that we consistently deliver high value and quality to our customers by meeting their needs and aligning with their mental models.

In this role, you will partner closely with the Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams, as well as our development partners, to evaluate, prioritize, and align new features and enhancements with customer needs and business goals. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders across the Sales, Partnerships, and Risk teams to manage expectations, enhance quality, and ensure compliance with industry standards, including a strong understanding of GSE requirements. Your insights will fuel discovery sessions, and your hands-on management of the backlog will create clear, actionable plans for feature delivery.

This role is essential to accelerating our roadmap, meeting customer needs, and delivering the best customer experience possible.

What you’ll do

• Drive Discovery and Iterative Improvement: Leverage data insights, user feedback, and cross-functional input to identify and drive enhancements.
• Cross Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, customer success, sales, partnership and risk and maintain strong relationships with business leadership to continuously understand business needs and the strategic direction of our company.
• Stakeholder Communication: Communicate with stakeholders to align on requirements, timelines, and enhance the customer experience.
• Backlog Management: Create and manage product roadmaps, backlogs, and feature prioritization.
• Deliver on Customer Needs: Help manage and prioritize customer service requests, translating customer feedback into actionable product improvements to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Translate Requirements: Work closely with stakeholders to translate high-level requirements into actionable user stories, for both enhancements as well as new features & functionality.
• Define and Track Metrics: Establish KPIs and other metrics to measure success and product health.
• Facilitate Flawless Execution: Ensure efficient, high-quality delivery of features by coordinating with Engineering and QA teams.

• Strong Understanding of Mortgage: Your knowledge of the mortgage industry and GSE guidelines will translate to detailed specifications for engineers and business rules.

Experience or Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a Product Manager in an agile software environment, preferably within enterprise SaaS or within the mortgage industry.
• Strong experience with JIRA or similar agile project management tools to manage backlogs and track progress effectively.
• Experience querying databases using SQL and using that data to troubleshoot, monitor, and measure performance.
• Have knowledge of common programming language logic/syntax and the ability to read and decipher code
• Experience working with APIs in a product role, including a strong understanding of database/schemas, API functionality and best practices, including common data interchange formats like JSON, XML, etc is preferred.
• Having worked in mortgage or other financial services domains, especially with credit data/providers
• Having used Snowflake or other cloud data platforms for querying/managing data and reporting
